Pumping and Water Treatment Systems

An important element of an irrigation system is the pump station and water treatment plant. Consideration must be given to provide systems that are practical, easy to use and fit for the intended purpose.
Pump stations should be:
- easy to operate.
- provide flexible operating parameters and contingencies.
- efficient in terms of pumping and motor operation.
Consideration of energy costings and whole of life costs need to also be considered when designing and selecting a pump station.
Water treatment components commonly include things such as:
- Filtration systems to remove organic and inorganic materials to achieve the required water quality.
- Chemical injection systems for system cleaning or additives.
- Aeration systems for water storages
- UV disinfection systems for biological control.
