Morphettville Race Course

Morphetville Race Course is the home of the Adelaide Cup, South Australia's premier horse race event.
Aquatek was engaged by FMG Engineers (formerly Koukourou) to provide an irrigation design. The major issue for this track was the width of the finishing straight at 32m. The track engineers should have consulted about this width earlier as this became a real problem for effective sprinkler coverage. The current technology was only just able to cover with marginal results, however the piping design was conservative and we did the best with a fixed layout.
This also incorporates a recycled water scheme engineered by others.
If you have a good feel and eye for these things you probably notice the turf variation.
All in all a good result...
