The Grange Golf Club - Pumping Project

Pump stations are the heart of a golf course and as indentified from a WISE course audit carried out by Aquatek, the pump stations at the golf course were highly inefficient. They were fixed speed pumps with no flexibility in operation.

The result of these pump stations were that the irrigation systems experienced significant water hammer, pipe damages and blowouts. Coupled with this were the high energy requirement and escalated cost of operation.

We worked with the course superintendent to propose the business case and operating efficiency gains in upgrading these pump stations to newer variable speed and sensor based control technology.

Aquatek also aligned the appropriate contractors with the course to implement the replacement of the pump stations and subsequently recommended the automation and pump contractors for bore remedial works.

The course now enjoy lower energy costs and a reduction/elimination of surge related pressure breaks.
